Title: Woman's Dress and Coat Ensemble

Date: ca. 1920s

The kimono sleeved straight coat is made of sheer silk, and decorated across the shoulders, down the back and on the hem with appliqued panels of gold chainstitch embroidery. The matching sheer, knee length dress is accordion pleated, with an attached half-belt tied loosely at the back. The wide straps and top edge of the bodice are decorated with a similar chainstitch embroidery. The ensemble belonged to Albertan Pearl 'Sunny' Sundberg while she worked as a nurse in Vancouver.
