About the School Districts Catalogue
The School Districts Catalogue contains the names, locations and dates of establishment of over 4600 school districts (primarily rural one-room schools), established in Alberta between 1885 and 1982.
Search Tips
To do a wildcard search use "*" at the end of a string of letters. Example: "glen*" will find Glen Echo, Glencairn, and Bonnie Glen schools.
To narrow a search (boolean "and") use "&" between the search terms. Example: "Glennan & Rockyford" will find records in which both words occur.
To broaden a search (boolean "or") use "/" between the search terms. Example: "Didsbury / Olds / Bowden" will find records in which one of these terms occurs.
To search for one term but not another use "!" between the search terms. Example: "Battle ! River" will find school districts with Battle in the name but not River.
