Title: John R. Boyle, lawyer and member of first Alberta Legislature.

Remarks: John Boyle was born near Sykeston, Ontario in 1870. In 1894 he taught school in Pilot Butte, Saskatchewan and prior to 1898 in Alberta. In that year he was apprenticed in a law office and in 1899 was admitted to the Alberta Bar.
J.R. Boyle became an alderman in Edmonton, Alberta in 1904 and in 1905 was a member of the first Alberta Legislature. In 1924 he was appointed Justice of the Supreme Court of Alberta.
