Remarks: Annotated: "In the H. B. Co's post Churchill 1910 Half Breeds & Esquimos. Note the snow goggles worn by the latter. These are made of wood with a narrow slit to look through. They are effective in the spring against snow blindness caused by the glare of the sun on snow.".

Remarks: Annotated: "White whale at Churchill 1910, taken near H. B. Co's warf [wharf] & post. These whales are killed and the meat & blubber put up in barrels or tanks for dog feed. It is mostly blubber what meat there is is a dark red and coarse. They weigh about 1000 lbs. Are pure white.".
