Title: Charles W. Peterson, Denmark.

Date: 1887

Remarks: Born in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1868. Educated at private school, England. Came to Canada 1887 and farmed in Manitoba. Became Assistant Dominion General Immigration Agent and colonization agent for Manitoba Northwestern Railway. Came to Alberta to ranch, 1892. Organized Department of Agriculture, 1898. In 1906 entered service of the Canadian Pacific Railway as General Manager of Irrigation and Colonization. Appointed Superintendent of Irrigation, 1910. Retired from Canadian Pacific Railway 1912 and became editor of the Farm and Ranch Review which he had helped found in 1905.
