Remarks: Joined North-West Mounted Police in 1885; appointed Inspector, October 22 1885. Prior to joining, served as Captain of number 4 Company, 77th Battalion, Canadian Militia at Levis, Quebec. Had also worked on St. Lawrence River as captain on steamboats between Rimouski and Montreal.
