Title: William Kilroe fonds

Physical Description: 198 photographs
History: William G.B. Kilroe, ?-1927, opened a photographic studio in Regina, Saskatchewan ca. 1919. He took over the City Art Studio at 2020-11th Avenue and called it Kilroe's Studio. He offered portraits and commercial photography, and amateur photofinishing. He closed the studio ca. 1924 and took over the Vulcan Studio in Vulcan, Alberta. This studio was closed by 1928. In 1927 he published a booklet: Souvenir of Turner Valley Oil Field, Alberta.
Scope and Content: The fonds consists of photographs of Regina businesses, personalities and events including the Prince of Wales' visit (1918-early 1920s), Saskatoon Stampede (1919), Vulcan personalities and events (1923-1925), Turner Valley oil wells, and mountain views.
Source of Acquisition: Gift J.R. Kilroe, 1967-1970.
