History: Isaac William Sambrook, 1882-?, was born in Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England and lived in Calgary, Alberta during the 1910s. He served with Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry during the First World War. He later operated a garage in Calgary and then returned to England. Isaac and his wife Mary Atkinson married in Banff in 1912 and had eleven children including Charles, Arthur, Frank, Osmund "Oz", Ted, Kathleen (Smith), Robert, 1928?-1982, David and Lawrence. Osmund lived in England in 1989.
Scope and Content: The fonds consists of photographs of streets, businesses, hotels, hospitals, Bow River, swimming pool, garage and boat house, mountain scenery, and wildlife in Banff, Alberta; and views of Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry leaving Calgary for France.
