History: Nanci Langford of Edmonton, Alberta gathered and created these records while undertaking research for a book on the Women of Unifarm, and its predecessors, United Farm Women of Alberta (UFWA) and Farm Women's Union of Alberta (FWUA). The book was published as: Politics, Pitchforks and Pickle Jars : 75 years of Organized Farm Women in Alberta / Nanci Langford. -- Calgary : Detselig Enterprises, 1997.
Scope and Content: The collection consists of reference materials: copies of minutes, circulars, resolutions, brochures, newsclippings, etc.(1912-1994); brief histories supplied by various locals (1921-1990); District 9 minutes (1956-1985); transcripts of interviews with members (1990-1991); and miscellaneous biographical information about women prominent in the organizations (ca. 1980s-1990s).
