PEGG Women's Club of Calgary fonds

The Engineering Institute of Canada Wives' Club was established in Calgary, Alberta in 1944, at the suggestion of the wife of a Dominion president of the institute who was visiting Calgary. Its aim is to promote friendship among the wives and widows of men in the engineering profession, through social events, sports and hobby groups. Since 1952 it has awarded an annual bursary to a first year engineering student at the University of Calgary. The name Professional Engineers' Wives Club of Calgary was adopted in 1974. In 1992 the name was changed to PEGG Wives' Club of Calgary and in the 2000s it was changed again to the PEGG Women's Club of Calgary.

Scope and Content:
The fonds consists of constitution, annual reports, minutes, correspondence, financial statements, newsletters, scrapbooks, and photographs of activities. Includes some records regarding the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists, and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA).

Gift of the Professional Engineers' Wives Club of Calgary, and Pegg Women's Club of Calgary, 1981-2016.
