The Glenbow Museum Acquisitions Society was an independent charitable organization created in 1979 to raise funds to enable the Glenbow Museum of Calgary, Alberta to purchase acquisitions for its collections. Members made a one-time tax-deductible donation and paid a nominal annual membership fee. Money was also raised through various activities including Gold Medal Dinners, casinos, Artlotto, Golf Classics and Spring Balls. In 1993, the name of the society was changed to Glenbow Society and its mandate was expanded to include fund-raising for Glenbow's operational expenses. The Society dissolved in 1998.

Scope and Content:
The fonds consists of minutes, incorporation documents, membership lists, policies and procedures, newsletters, correspondence, records, and photographs pertaining to various fund-raising activities and artifacts purchased with GMAS funds.

Source of Acquisition:
Gifts of GMAS, 1983-1988; and internal transfer from Development Department files.
