Benson served as secretary from 1938 to 1976 and as western manager of CCWG from 1929 to 1976. The Association is one of about a dozen producer groups affiliated with the Alberta Sheep & Wool Commission. The latter changed its name in 2009 to the Alberta Lamb Producers.
