History: William Stanley Cooper, ?-1950, came to Alberta in 1900 as a steam engineer and sales agent for American-Abell Engine and Threshing Company. In 1914 he formed his own agricultural machinery dealership, W.S. Cooper Company Ltd., at 806-9th Avenue SW in Calgary. The company served as an agent for American-Abell's successors, Minneapolis-Moline Power Implement Company, and later the White Motor Corporation. Cooper's son, William Stanley Cooper Jr., 1907-1978, joined the company in the late 1920s. The dealership moved to 778-9th Avenue SE in 1933. W.S. Cooper Sr. retired in 1940 and W.S. Cooper Jr. ran the business until 1975.
Scope and Content: The fonds consists of account books (1921-1947), dealers agreements, miscellaneous correspondence, and photographs of staff and office building.
