Pacific Oil and Refinery of Alberta Ltd. fonds
50 cm of textual records
Pacific Oil and Refinery of Alberta Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Pacific Oil and Refinery of Ontario, was incorporated in Alberta on April 16, 1943. It opened an oil refinery in Lethbridge in 1943, which could handle 1500 barrels of crude oil daily. It drilled two wells, at Del Bonita and Twin River and also held leases in the Taber area. The company was struck from the companies register in 1954.
These records were salvaged from the Hollinsworth Building, owned by the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, before the Bankers Hall project renovations were begun. PORA, or its lawyer, had offices in the building.
