Mountain View Irrigation District in southern Albertta was established under the Irrigation Districts Act in 1923. The district encompasses 1400 hectares in townships 2 and 3, ranges 27 and 28, west of the fourth meridian. The headgates were first lifted in 1932. Costs of upkeep and improvement of the irrigation system are shared by district farmers and the Alberta government.
Scope and Content:
The fonds consists of bylaws, minutes (on microfilm), cost-sharing agreements and structure replacement reports (some on microfilm), financial statements, and irrigation rates collector's rolls.
