Farmers' Union of Alberta. Sunniebend Local fonds
12 cm of textual records
The Sunniebend local of the United Farmers of Alberta (UFA) was formed in Sunniebend District near Pibroch in 1920, with twelve founding members. The group met every two weeks. At meetings, issues of concern to farmers and the local community were discussed, such as getting a railway station at Pibroch and debt problems during the Depression. The organization also arranged community picnics and jointly managed the community hall with the Sunniebend Agricultural Society. In 1949, it became a local of the Farmers' Union of Alberta (FUA). The group folded in 1956.
