History: The Sunniebend local of the United Farm Women of Alberta (UFWA) was formed in Sunniebend District near Pibroch in 1927, with eleven charter members. Meetings were held every two weeks in members' homes. To raise money for charitable organizations, social activities, and building and maintaining the Sunniebend Hall, a variety of bazaars, whist drives and raffles were held by the group. In 1949 it became a local of the Farm Women's Union of Alberta (FWUA). The group folded in 1965.
Scope and Content: The fonds consists of minutes, membership rolls, cashbooks, and scrapbook (on microfilm). The minute books from 1927 to 1936 have been scanned and may be viewed via the link below.
