In 1969 the name of the organization was changed to the Association for Systems Management, and it was under this name that the Calgary chapter was incorporated under the Alberta Societies Act in 1975. The purposes of the association are to promote a broader understanding of the systems function of effective management, to encourage high professional standards, to engage in research, and conduct educational seminars and conferences.
