History: The Aldersyde Mutual Telephone Company was incorporated on June 14, 1935 to take over the Alberta Government Telephones' rural service in the Aldersyde area. As an economy measure at this time, AGT turned over most of its rural lines to locally-owned companies, while retaining control over standards of maintenance and construction. In August 1972 AGT reintegrated the company's subscribers into the main telephone system.
Scope and Content: The fonds consists of charter, minutes, annual statistical returns, cashbooks, correspondence, and subscribers' accounts.
