History: The Alberta Vegetable Growers Marketing Board, based in Taber, was created in 1958 under the Marketing of Agricultural Products Act. Its functions are to negotiate fair returns for the producers' products, ensure fair grades and weights, and to promote better grower-processor relations. The board has the power to licence producers, processors and handlers, and to set terms of sale and minimum prices. Processors the board has negotiated with include Broder Canning Company, Alberta Canning Company, Empress Foods Ltd., and Canada Packers.
Scope and Content: The fonds consists of minutes, annual convention proceedings, correspondence and crop reports.
